Blog changes - finally. I've allowed the first mods to get out.

Threading is still there, but you won't need to click and open new documents to see all the comments. Give it a try. There is a known bug (known to me) that I'll try to fix tonight.

Obviously, there are no replies here so you can't see what I've done unless you click this link to see an old thread.

I really like the new way of seeing comments. I wonder if you have also gotten
rid of the Thank You popup, which I would rather didn't appear.
The Thank You PopupBy Andrew Pollack on 10/30/2006 at 11:07 PM EDT
The thank you pop-up is there to allow the secondary window to go away. More
changes are planned, and among those are to make the comment addition a dynamic
layer using an AJAX methodology so there is no distinct window.

I like the new comment display better than the old one. Seeing all the
comments at once speeds up reading them.

Thanks,

Bruce

If the "click to reply" box was outside of the box, you could avoid drawing the
box on empty replies.

Hmmm.... Is it a fixed right margin for the box sizes relative to the right
margin of the window, but a fixed character width for the text wrapping within
the replies? Doesn't quite work for me.
My complex than that -- and a hack or twoBy Andrew Pollack on 10/31/2006 at 10:42 AM EDT
The formatting is done in two different places, unfortunately.

Although the changes were requested several times by several people, I didn't
have time to really do it all the way right. As a result, there are several
behind the scenes aspects of this template that won't scale well.

I have some significant improvements 'on tap' that really take advantage of
newer design models (100% AJAX & CSS) but I haven't had time to put them into
the design yet.

Looks better! Keep the changes coming! :)

The truth is, I haven't had much to say that was worthy of more than a basic social media post -- until today. For my current work, I was assigned a new laptop. It's a real powerhouse machine with 14 processor cores and 64 gigs of ram. It should be perfect for running my development environment in a virtual machine, but it wasn't. VirtualBox was barely starting, and no matter how many features I turned off, it could ......

Certainly it should have been addressed in the Trump, Obama, Bush, Clinton, Bush, and Reagan administrations -- all of which were well aware of the implications of a pandemic. I want a military prepared to help us, not just hurt other people. As an American I expect that with the ridiculous funding of our military might, we are prepared for damn near everything. 3. 01/28/2020Copyright Troll WarningThere's a copyright troll firm that has automated reverse-image searches and goes around looking for any posted images that they can make a quick copyright claim on. This is not quite a scam because it's technically legal, but it's run very much like a scam. This company works with a few "clients" that have vast repositories of copyrighted images. The trolls do a reverse web search on those images looking for hits. When they find one on a site that looks like someone they can scare, they work it like ......
