Creating an SSL Certificate for IBM Lotus Domino

By Andrew Pollack on 03/03/2008 at 05:29 PM EST

A great many people have asked me for a simple How-To on creating an SSL certificate for your Domino server. Here's a very clear step-by-step guide that should do the job for you.

That's really interesting and useful!

There's any information about how to use these certificates to authenticate and
to sign files and forms from the web?

I'll be very pleased if you send me information about this.

Thanks in advance!

Many thanks for this. I've just followed it to successfully setup SSL on a
Domino server in about an hour. I'm sure it would have taken me a lot long had
I not had this guide.

There is just one step missing from the guide. The last thing you need to do
is enable SSL in the Server document (Ports->Internet Ports tab). I'm not
using Internet Site documents so I guess it may be enabled elsewhere if you are.

A note about setting the database property "require SSL connection" would make
it even more complete!

Many thanks for saving me a lot of time and headaches!

The truth is, I haven't had much to say that was worthy of more than a basic social media post -- until today. For my current work, I was assigned a new laptop. It's a real powerhouse machine with 14 processor cores and 64 gigs of ram. It should be perfect for running my development environment in a virtual machine, but it wasn't. VirtualBox was barely starting, and no matter how many features I turned off, it could ......

This is not quite a scam because it's technically legal, but it's run very much like a scam. This company works with a few "clients" that have vast repositories of copyrighted images. The trolls do a reverse web search on those images looking for hits. When they find one on a site that looks like someone they can scare, they work it like ......
