Mexico sends first ever aid convoy to U.S.
Food, supplies, doctors come north in gesture fraught with symbolism, irony

LAREDO, Texas - A Mexican army convoy crossed into the United States on Thursday to bring aid to hurricane victims, becoming the first Mexican military unit to operate on U.S. soil since 1846.

Many more are planned. -- Thank you, Mexico.

Mexico to the rescueBy SingaDick on 09/13/2005 at 07:36 AM EDT
Great ! First I had heard of that.
Worth mentioning that even little Singapore (pop. 4M) had 4 Chinooks and crews
operating out of Ft Polk, LA, ferrying people out of N.O. and supplies in.
Yes. Emergency aid response is America at its best, and pays offBy Andrew Pollack on 09/13/2005 at 08:04 AM EDT
We're getting aid when we need it from Countries we've aided many times. Its
not a matter of equality, or even capacity. No country can effectively
stockpile all the needed items. It makes no sense. Pooling capability is the
best way to respond world wide.

When we as a country spend our resources bringing aid to the world, we put our
best face forward and the people of the world recognize our generosity and our
capability. It never entirely erases the opposite impact we have when we
attempt to spread ideology at the end of a bayonette, but it does help people.

It remains my opinion that we spread more of our belief system in human rights
and cooperative democratic capitolism through our aid efforts than we do
through any other means.

Proof of this is at hand, we some of the worlds more troubled countries go to
great effort to help us on those rare occasions when we realy need it.

Thanks to the fantastic work by John Curtis and his team, the node.js integration with Domino is going to be getting a rich security model. What we know is that a user's authorizations will be respected through the node.js application to the Domino server -- including reader names, ACLs, Roles, and so on. The way ......

This piece of garbage is supposed to be a bearing. It carries the shaft which drives both stages of the auger. The shaft passes through the bearing (which is what bearings do) after the auger drive pulley as the shaft goes through the back (engine ......
