Lotusphere 2006 Survey Results are in......Read 'em and weep, my friends! (Updated)

By Andrew Pollack on 02/03/2006 at 09:29 PM EST

I wasn't going to go to the trouble of adding these up from the website, but since all of you seem to being doing it on your blogs it only seemed fitting. Of course, now it's going to be hard to fit my head through the door after reading these. I don't know what formula is used to compare these percentages from sessions with differing numbers of attendees, but I suspect I'll come out ok. :-)

Updated: I wasn't sure if you guys are including blanks in your percentage calculations or not, so I put both numbers up.

Note: I've been told that there are some surveys missing on the website. Obviously, all I did to get these numbers was print the page on the site and count the columns (which do not appear to be in the right order, by the way). If someone (Rocky?) has access to the actual data, I'd be happy to update this.

At a ratio of 82 to 0, those who filled in the surveys would recommend me speaking at upcoming IBM/Lotus events.
Out of 82 responses, it comes out with 100% "Good/Excellent" compared to 0% Poor/Bad.

* I sure hope my late Friday night math is good, or one of you will write to tell me I'm a moron. To which I will of course respond "Yes, but a moron with excellent scores!".

How would you rate the quality and relevance of the information in the session?
83.5% Excellent: 71 of 85 ( or 71 or 83 responses = 85.5%)
14.0% Good: 12 of 85 (or 12 of 83 responses = 14.4%)
02.3% Blank: 2 of 85
00.0% Poor / Bad

How would you rate the quality and effectiveness of the speaker(s)/facilitator(s)?
88.2% Excellent: 75 of 85 (or 75 of 83 responses = 90.3%)
09.4% Good: 8 of 85 (or 8 or 83 responses = 9.7%)
02.3% Blank: 2 of 85
00.0% Poor / Bad

Would you recommend an updated version of this session/topic for upcoming IBM/Lotus technical events?
90.5% Yes: 77 of 85 (or 77 of 81 responses = 95%)
04.7% No: 4 of 85 (or 4 of 81 responses = 5%)
04.7% Blank: 4 of 85

Would you recommend this speaker(s) for upcoming IBM/Lotus technical events?
96.4% Yes: 82 of 85 (or 82 of 82 responses = 100%)
00.0% No: 0 of 85 (or 0 of 82 responses = 0%)
03.5% Blank: 3 of 85

The truth is, I haven't had much to say that was worthy of more than a basic social media post -- until today. For my current work, I was assigned a new laptop. It's a real powerhouse machine with 14 processor cores and 64 gigs of ram. It should be perfect for running my development environment in a virtual machine, but it wasn't. VirtualBox was barely starting, and no matter how many features I turned off, it could ......

Certainly it should have been addressed in the Trump, Obama, Bush, Clinton, Bush, and Reagan administrations -- all of which were well aware of the implications of a pandemic. I want a military prepared to help us, not just hurt other people. As an American I expect that with the ridiculous funding of our military might, we are prepared for damn near everything. Not just killing people and breaking things, but ......
  3. 01/28/2020Copyright Troll WarningThere's a copyright troll firm that has automated reverse-image searches and goes around looking for any posted images that they can make a quick copyright claim on. This is not quite a scam because it's technically legal, but it's run very much like a scam. This company works with a few "clients" that have vast repositories of copyrighted images. The trolls do a reverse web search on those images looking for hits. When they find one on a site that looks like someone they can scare, they work it like ......
