I LOVE this response on SlashDot to news of Sun and Oracle getting together for yet another potshot at Microsoft

First, here's the quote from "bcrowell" on /. "Y'know, I was just saying to myself, "Self," I said to myself, "you really need an enterprise datacenter architecture that leverages middleware based on robust frameworks." Wow, they must have been reading my mind! --

Larry & Scott are proof of the bad things that can happen when you give a pair of egomaniacs enough success to let them do whatever dumb-ass things comes into their heads. Who remembers the "Sun - Netscape - AOL Alliance" that was going to bring us utopia through iPlanet? Did ANYONE think that kind of ridiculous alliance could be stable?

So, now is Larry and Scott once again trying to start their own tree house fort with a big sign on it (in crayon) that says "Everyone can come in but Bill". Grow the hell up, boys. You have business to run and responsibility to shareholders. If you want to compete with Microsoft, build something good. Lotus does it, Intuit does it, The Linux open source crowd does it. Digium does it. LOTS of people do it. You two just have to pull you heads out of sand....long enough to work on your own products and strategies and quit doing everything with one eye on how you can "hurt" Microsoft.

This is not quite a scam because it's technically legal, but it's run very much like a scam. This company works with a few "clients" that have vast repositories of copyrighted images. The trolls do a reverse web search on those images looking for hits. When they find one on a site that looks like someone they can scare, they work it like ......

Thanks to the fantastic work by John Curtis and his team, the node.js integration with Domino is going to be getting a rich security model. What we know is that a user's authorizations will be respected through the node.js application to the Domino server -- including reader names, ACLs, Roles, and so on. The way ......

This piece of garbage is supposed to be a bearing. It carries the shaft which drives both stages of the auger. The shaft passes through the bearing (which is what bearings do) after the auger drive pulley as the shaft goes through the back (engine ......
