Here's what FEDEX considers helpful

By Andrew Pollack on 07/03/2006 at 03:26 PM EDT

Note on these screenshots, that the overnight package sent on July 1st, was listed as being in Boston at 8am on the 3rd, and scheduled for delivery by 3pm that afternoon at my location -- 2.5 hours drive from that airport location in Boston. Now, after FedEx has "Helped" the package is shown STILL in Boston, and scheduled for deliver on the 6th - a full 3 days later.

WTF? I'm fairly sure I could BICYCLE to Boston AND BACK in less time than they seem to plan to take to get this package to me. I am now seriously frustrated with them.

On the positive side, if you've ever had the option of picking FedEx or UPS on a web site at about the same price and wondered if one was better than the other.....I guess the answer is fairly easy to spot. I probably will not have the slightest pause in choosing at any future date.

UPS not betterBy Amy B on 07/03/2006 at 05:57 PM EDT
I ordered a bench from Target.com (not available in the stores). They've
shipped it 2x via UPS ground and both times UPS has damaged it and returned it
to Target. Now target is out of them...

Sigh.

Here are some sensible rules for web site advertisingAn increasing number of websites are now detecting when users have ad-blocking enabled, and refuse to show content unless you "whitelist" their site (disable your ad-blocking for them). I think that is a fair decision on their part, it's how they pay for the site. However, if you want me (and many others) to white list your site, there are some rules you should follow. If you violate these rules, I won't whitelist your site, I'll just find content elsewhere. 1. The total space taken up by advertisements ......
