Christmas purchase limits -- and a common misconception

By Andrew Pollack on 12/26/2005 at 05:33 PM EST

Most people take it for a given that if you and your wife agree on a limit for spending on each other, that you mean it to be the top end of the scale. I, on the other hand, choose to view it as a bottom end limit, and shop accordingly. As such, each year I am easily able to keep within this limit as I purchase the things I think Barb should have. I am also quite able to say "Yes, of course I kept to the limit." with a perfectly straight face.

As a side note -- someone better puchase some NCT Search. ;-)

Apparently my wife subscribes to your theoryBy Scott Good on 12/27/2005 at 01:01 PM EST
Each year we have The Talk. Each year, she blows through the limit like an F-15
through light cloud cover. This year, a 60% overrun, not even a good try.

My complaint about this (well, there are LOTS of complaints about this, but the
one directed at you), is why the bloody hell didn't you point this out BEFORE
Christmas, when I might have had a shot to staunch the bleeding?

Brilliant. Insightful. But late, dammit.

Thanks to the fantastic work by John Curtis and his team, the node.js integration with Domino is going to be getting a rich security model. What we know is that a user's authorizations will be respected through the node.js application to the Domino server -- including reader names, ACLs, Roles, and so on. The way ......

This piece of garbage is supposed to be a bearing. It carries the shaft which drives both stages of the auger. The shaft passes through the bearing (which is what bearings do) after the auger drive pulley as the shaft goes through the back (engine ......
