30 mile an hour winds and very dry conditions made for some good sized brush and woods fires today.

I'm too tired to talk much about it tonight, suffice it to say when towns from as far as 15 and 20 miles away are all sending trucks, its a big woods fire. I ended up in charge of what started as a small group of four firefighters sent in around the back side of the blaze and ended up with about 20 people who apparently lacked other direction. Woods fires are tiring because they go on for hours. More tomorrow.

Hey Andrew, minor complaint about your RSS excerpts particularly with this post
(since I know your roll-your-own on this blog rather than using one of the big
two templates). It was clear in the reader that there was more story, so I
clicked through for the rest to find only one more sentence. Perhaps you should
have it it break at the first paragraph and be sure to limit the length of that
pgraph when writing a long post.

This piece of garbage is supposed to be a bearing. It carries the shaft which drives both stages of the auger. The shaft passes through the bearing (which is what bearings do) after the auger drive pulley as the shaft goes through the back (engine ......
